I support this. Projects gets my vote.

Otherwise people can think that they can find projects here… they can, but this is the place to discuss the projects, not find them.
But hey that's just me. Spock would say "to call it projects.wikidot.com would be illogical" but hey he's a Vulcan.
"projectsforum" is too long.

forum.wikidot.com should then become a portal — one page with something like this:
— Shane | Blog | CycloDS Revolution | Compatibility List | Want me to manage your next wiki? | XBL: leiger40
Automatic code replacement — Rate it up!
Ack.

I agree projectsforum = too long
Sounds like a good idea to change the name to projects.wikidot.com
OK, thank you all.
I'm renaming this site to projects.wikidot.com and making forum.wikidot.com as suggested by Shane.

Could an admin of the old forum put a redirect on this page http://forum.wikidot.com/section:Iron-Giant to point to this page http://projects.wikidot.com/section:Iron-Giant please? Reason: there are too many references to this old page on the iron giant site in the project:xxx-template files. I started changing them but gave up. I have changed the other one-off references on that site already.
I'm assuming this is technically possible.
Sue
Ah, Sue I forgot all about those references. I'll do that right away. I think there is a way to make the redirect map the URL so any old URI which pointed to forum will work as-is on projects.
The Wikidot Blog | My other works
Sue, just thought about this. Instead of %%content{2}%% being the forum thread, just force it in the template, using the page title. I know it's a bit late - if you agree I'll make the changes.
The Wikidot Blog | My other works
Pieter, I've only just seen this. (Been to the dentist, so feeling a bit whoozy and can't concentrate!) I think you're saying to construct the thread url in the project:_template file by using the thread's title as a parameter. If so, that's very slick.
Alternatively, the "clobber it" approach would be to redirect forum.wikidot.com (the whole site) to projects.wikidot.com so any errant links will still work, wherever they may be lurking, then change the portal to a new sitename, perhaps forums (plural) or forumportal or forumcentral. This, on the basis that a forum portal is a new concept here.
Whatever's least work I guess.
Sue
I'll make the _template do the work. A bit of pain now but less work in the future.
The Wikidot Blog | My other works
That's fine, but don't talk to me about pain, not today anyway! :-))
Sue
OK, done.
