We don't need bolds, underlining and italics. We need highlight. Maybe (but more rarely) striking out.

As suggested in blog post, a preferred way of would be:

\\this is line with \ at the beginning
\*this line is highligthed
\@this line is escaped and can contain [[includes ]] without them being parsed
\-this line is stroke through

Symbols: *, @, - correspond to their usual meaning in Wikidot, so are better — more consistent. We can also strip the space after backspace then.
