Wouldn't you want to pass variables just by putting them (%%fullname%% probably, maybe other %%variables%%) simply to HTML blocks like this:
(Now putting html in _template won't work properly but we have this working planned to do soon).

Well, the short answer to that is: “yes, of course”
The long answer: “I remember reading that all text within the HTML block is interpreted literally. So I thought this would be the easiest solution for you guys to release”
