I would still like the ability to change my username (or at least, have an "alias") for certain sites. It would save me having to use 3-4 different accounts as I do at the moment.

Not to mention the tragedy of mistakenly editing site A with profile B and realizing that the history is forever.
Well, the workaround is to delete/recreate the page. But still…

Perhaps the best way to do this is to create multiple accounts, then link them together. An email would be sent to confirm the link with the other account, and once that is confirmed, you can manage which sites use which usernames… in the account settings.
This is similar to how Gmail allows users to send from multiple email addresses. The other email address must already exist (though doesn't have to be a gmail address… it could be anything) - and Gmail sends off a confirmation email to confirm that they want to let me send email using their email address, from my own account.
