A series of proposals for anti-spam tools.
- Add SpamBlocker feature that disallows links to non-Wikidot sites, except for site members. Thus, non-members can comment and create content but not create links. Links that they try to add are encoded and can be recreated by members, so external links are in effect moderated.
- Add ability to kill specific users directly from their icon. This would be restricted to users with specific power ("sheriffs", as discussed on the blog some time ago). The Kill action would remove all posts, threads, comments, and sites created by the user, would kill the user profile, and would then show activity on that IP address and allow extended killing of all activity from that IP address.
- Block links to external sites in signatures of non-Pro users. This closes the door to an important tool for link spammers.
