of course this could all be solved with tags… now I am on slippery ground… since it's a waist of my time to suggest solutions, but what if you could say that the content in a field from the data-form should be saved as a tag… My problem would be solved…

If I read the additional functionality it seems that there is a reason for me to be happy in the future, however… do I sense trouble with hidden tags?

Could the tag-field also have a not 'Select-like' functionality, but for example like it is now: completely open like a text-input-field?

I haven't looked at the implementation recently, but I personally need a way to manually define a set group of tags (say… about 10), and let the user select one or more of those from a combo box. To edit the list I'd just modify the live template.
