Why not in simple pages

I am a beginner at wikidot… I don't know how to make live templates or listpages, but i wish to see the amount of views on my page… will this be possible?
Or is there also a design on Standard Page Properties?

It is possible to imagine using symbols on simple pages, yes. It would require some extra work but be worthwhile, simpler and more obvious to use.
I like it. Let me discuss with the devs.

You really must learn these things! You're missing out on so much without them!
If you want, send me a PM with the link to one of your sites and I'll help you to start using live templates and ListPages there :)

Indeed, in any realistic Wikidot application there are very few "simple pages". However being able to insert a symbol in, e.g. nav:side would be useful. A specific module, I think, since it has to be dynamic. Templates are compiled.

I saw in the community somebody with guru-status posting questions that made me think in that direction. I had a look at her site with over 1000 pages and they did not use _liveTemplates… So that's why I wrote this… http://swib.wikidot.com/
So I placed myself in her position and asked a question here…
@leiger :-) now I understand why you wrote that you thought that I did not use _templates
So saying that there are not many simple pages in a site… is bit of an understatement… I think if I see how many pages are made without templates or are not beeing generated using modules
