IE7/8 does not render rainbow themes used by Iron Giants
gerdami wrote on 01 Sep 2009 06:49
It looks like the second @import, the one written on the admin:theme page, is not read by IE7/8.
It looks like the 3rd @import [green-fresh], hidden in the second @import, is not read by IE7/8.

I'm using one of the blue ones on http://urcheatz.com and it seems to be fine in IE8. I use Firefox but always check my sites in the unfortunately popular IE.
ok, there are bits missing now. The top background image is not there.
I managed to re-paste an old version of the rainbow-base theme. Switching computers, forgot to push to git on the other one. Works now.

This is happening to me too, with IE6 and IE7. I can't check it in IE8 until later tonight. The pages look like the Base theme.
I've fixed it, by removing the 3rd level of import. Can someone test? I don't have IE7/IE8.
Thanks.

Sorry Pieter, IE6/7 are still not working.
Edit: Don't know if you've recently changed something, but it seems to work now for IE6 and 7.
I have noticed that these themes render the main page content below the side bar in IE6. For example, on this forum start page, the main table starts below the side bar and on blog.wikidot.com the blog posts start below the side bar. I think this is something to do with the css box model issue, perhaps?
OK, this needed some structural changes. The "My Theme" definition creates just one level too many. I don't think this could ever have worked on IE7/8. I've removed it on every template, and also this site, iron giant. I could not fix the project-template nor snow-template since I'm not admin on those.

OK, snow-leopard is fixed too now. Also confirmed that the fix actually works on IE7/8 and have posted a blog correcting that "My Theme" posting from 3 weeks back. Thanks for spotting this, folks. :-)
