The %%user%% variable has been suggested somewhere… as well as being useful in this situation (see below), pieter's Page manager also needs the variable for the "Mine" link.
Instead of having you guys working on developing a module as well, why not just work on the %%user%% variable, which can be used in other situations as well?
e.g.
Once that link is clicked on, you check what the username is and insert that into the URL in the place of the user variable.

I was thinking exactly about this. But to define %%user%% variable, we probably need a module to create a scope for it (just like CountPages module creates a scope for %%count%% variable substitution). It more an implementation detail, so not really relevant, the point is, we don't need to have "Ask users to complete their profile" option in the profiles settings.

I was hoping there would be a way to do this without a module, because adding it to a module brings a few limitations… but you understand how the Wikidot backend works so if this is necessary, I'm sure the community can come up with ways to get around any of the limitations :)
