how-to-apply-for-membership
A - S I M P L E - P L A N by ARTiZEN a startingpoint for simple wikidot solutions.
First of all, love wikidot so far. Way better than google sites.
Here are a few basic questions I have:
(1) File Management Capabilities - I am on the board of directors for a library and want to build a site for us to manage our meeting agendas, minutes, etc. The bottom line is that most all of this content is excel, word and powerpoint. Candidly, I'd like to keep it that way. So, what I'd like is some basic file management capabilities like I have at work with SharePoint. I'm assuming there is some basic file management capabilties here somewhere. In particular, I'm looking for a way to basic file management tasks like create folders, sort lists by name, date, etc. Basic centralized file sharing. SharePoint seems to do this quite well. Google Sites has a template called "file cabinet" that is pretty weak, but closer than anything I've seen on wikidot so far. Could someone point me to a few examples of how to do this. My plan is for the secretary and treasurer to upload their documents for the rest of the board to view. So far all I've been able to figure is is that I can use [[module files] to produce the list of files in the page, but I still have to click ont the "files" button (which reproduces the list again at the bottom of the page) in order to the "upload" controls.
(2) Search Attachments - The one thing I liked about Google Sites is that the search included content found in attachments. How can create a search function in wikidot that will not only search page content, but the the content of attachments as well?
These are the only two things keeping me from moving forward with my wikidot site. Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks. Chris.
Please read this forum post where you asked the same two questions 3 hours earlier :)
